From the people:

“I know that everyone always says this, but it is true of me also: I never write reviews. I usually find polite ways to excuse myself. Until now. Mr. Taylor has been my son’s trumpet teacher for the past four years. Four years! We were initially broken hearted when he moved from San Francisco to the Mid West (actually, my son was devastated); but fortunately, he has been able to continue working with my son via Zoom. He now teaches my daughter too!

Mr. Taylor is kind, patient (both essential qualities when teaching kids to play trumpet), supportive and very funny. He is wonderful teacher and a truly good person. I’m grateful that he is teaching my children trumpet, but almost more grateful that he continues to be a force of good in their lives. He is magical.”

Kimberly Tompkins Pettigrew (mother of Jack & Grace, 8th and 5th graders at San Francisco Day School)

“Graham is a wonderful teacher. He’s effective, fun, and creative. Our son enjoys his trumpet lessons and the innovative ways he learns to improve his musical skills. We are grateful for the joyful music and laughter Graham inspires in our home.”

Valina Agbabian (mother of Arman, a 6th grader at San Francisco Day School)

“We are so happy we found Graham! He is great at teaching all aspects of trumpet including how to blow into it to get the right sounds, how to read music, and how to encourage a variety of music. He is a wonderful balance of pushing students to do their best but still making it fun and interesting..”

Susyn Normington (mother of Ethan, a freshman at Pinole HS)

“Graham is a terrific teacher! Our son has played trumpet with Graham for the last 3+ years. Under Graham’s guidance, he has become an accomplished and joyful musician. Graham strikes the right balance between high standards and student enthusiasm. Our son loves to play and has developed a real sense of achievement from his music.”

Chris Wilkens (father of Devin, a freshman at Urban HS in San Francisco)
